Fourth of July Poem

The Fourth of July is one of the most patriotic of holiday's. Here is a super poem for you and your preschooler to do together for this occasion! There are some simple hand movements to go with each verse that even the youngest preschooler will be able to understand. This would be a fun poem to do at your holiday picnic or even for a Fourth of July Pageant!

Fourth of July Poem

The stars and stripes are flying.
Today's the Fourth of July!
(Take your arm and wave it high in the sky,like you are waving a flag.)
I have a flag to celebrate,
And I'll wave it really high.

I am so proud to be here,
Wearing red, white and blue,
(Put your had to your head and salute.)
I'll stand up tall and show you all,
I am American through and through.

Thank you for my country.
Thank you for freedom too.
(Put your hand over your heart like you are saying a pledge.)
I am so proud to be here,
Standing next to you!
