Animal Action Poem

Preschoolers love to mimic and act out what they see and animals are a huge attraction. Put them together and what do you have-A super fun poem! By splitting into groups of three, for each part of the poem, each group gets to shine. Follow these simple actions to get your preschooler used to the activity, then make up your own. There are no limits at how fun this action poem can be. Pick an animal, make up a movement, and there you go!

Animal Action Poem

Funny little grasshopper-you go,
Hop, hop, hop.(Hop like a grasshopper or a frog)

Funny little bunny-your ears go,
Flop, flop, flop.(put your hands next to your head and mimic flopping bunny ears)

Funny little pony-you go,
Tralop, tralop, tralop.(gallop like a pony around and around)

And you keep right on going until I say,
Stop, stop, stop.(Everybody stops!)
